
This research utilises syntactic analysis (quantitative methods; this example) to evaluate school plans, while combining this output with further analysis of Spatial Usages and student occupancies

Multiple syntactic analysis (performed on the floor plans) are compiled for comparisons for different schools while considering which areas are the focus of the next scope (which is decided to be the informal learning spaces outside classrooms)

Syntactic analysis are combined to observations of student occupancies (doing activities) in the school to explore the visual mean depth (degree of isolation) of different activities, focusing on self-directed ones (high student autonomy)
